James has worked in the engineering and construction sector for over 15 years. With a chemical engineering degree from the University of Sydney and a graduate diploma of legal studies from the University of Technology Sydney he has a solid technical background.
With earlier years spent in the food and water sectors, he has spent the last 10 years in the energy sector. Having held roles such as Project Development Manager – Energy at Leighton Contractors, Project Director – Central Thermal Plant for Central Park and General Manager – Renewable Energies at Total Construction, being at the forefront of emerging technologies is his forte.
Direct experience with renewable has been in the form of working on a 103MW wind farm in New South Wales, Australia.
He is presently the Deputy Chair for the Industry Advisory Committee of the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney. Prior to this he was Deputy President of the Chemical Engineering Foundation for a number of years. The objective to improve the bond between industry and the school, along with students.
